About Captain Black's Designs

I had a beach house in Galveston for a few years, and my family and I loved collecting shells along the shore. Before long, I started turning some of them into simple jewelry pieces for my girls and for friends and guests who visited our home.

Eventually, life took us away from the island. But anyone who has lived in Galveston knows — the island never really leaves you.

A few years ago, Donna and I were married on the beach in Galveston, and since then we’ve made it a tradition to go back every year. During our 2025 trip, I felt inspired to start making jewelry again. With even more girls in the family now, I began creating pieces for them too.

What started as a small hobby quickly grew into something more. My beautiful bride encouraged me to share my creations beyond family and friends — and that’s how this journey began. 😉

Every piece I make is one of a kind, created with imagination, memories, love, and a little island spirit.
